The majority of the Team have had experience of recruiting in times of a Global Recession, Full Employment and everything in-between. We have experienced the rise of technology in the recruitment process and seen the introduction of a myriad of additional recruitment methodologies enter the marketplace in this time too.
This ability to adapt to these ever changing circumstances, with both clients and candidates, has seen us through to where we are today and will enable us to be best placed to respond to all future events.
After an initial constructive conversation our Team Manager arranged to meet with the Hiring Manager and the HR Representative supporting this recruitment process.
A few options were considered at the time and it was agreed that FINCO Search would be engaged on an exclusive contingent search basis for a period of 3 weeks to source suitable talent.
Within 3 days interviews were lined up and after an initial review the most suitable candidate was offered the position and agreed to start.
The whole process from meeting to the candidate starting their new role was only 5 weeks!
Needless to say both the company and the candidate were very happy.
The UK Head of IT and Global Head of HR met with our Director (Jonathan) and discussed the best way to go about planning and organising such a key recruitment event.
Whilst the priority hire was to ensure that the Manager was in place ASAP it was important to make sure that enough key staff with the relevant skills were also lined up to be joining soon thereafter.
Jonathan went on to design the whole recruitment process on behalf of the company. This involved an advertising campaign, selection and interview process (including writing out the format and interview questions and attending each interview), together with an offer management process to ensure the entire team started within the projected timescales agreed at the start of the process.
18 people were hired over a 3 day period including the Manager and a Deputy Manager.
The operational staff were not happy with their working contracts and in a heavily unionised environment the levels of service were being adversely affected.
The client was therefore looking for a strong minded Operations Manager with experience of working in such an environment who could not only transform the current contract with their own client through better service delivery but would help the Head Office Team to grow more business too.
We provided CVs of 4 candidates, 3 got invited for first interview, 2 got invited to the 2nd stage and both were invited again to the final stage to complete the process.
This successful hire happened due to the acknowledgement of the issues the client was facing and the clear and honest preparation and the feedback given to all candidates throughout the process.
